Global hand protection campaign

In 2019, we developed a global hand protection campaign for General Electric, translated for use in 19 countries. The work brought together different engagement activities and learning experiences to involve people in understanding how to protect their hands during their activities.

The campaign addressed choices made at work: preparing an activity, planning its execution more effectively, and using the appropriate tools. We wanted to connect hand protection with these decisions so that the care involved could be understood by the person carrying out each task.

Care begins with preparation

When we talk about protecting hands, we need to look at how the work will be done. What can be improved before starting an activity? This reflection helps examine preparation and tool selection, considering what the person will need to do during execution.

These topics guided the campaign’s content. By connecting them, we worked on the understanding that planning is also part of hand protection. The choice of a tool, for example, needs to be considered together with the activity in which it will be used. Explaining this relationship gives meaning to the guidance and helps people understand the care we are proposing.

Learn and participate in the campaign

The engagement activities provided different learning experiences throughout the campaign. They were the approach we used to encourage participation and keep the discussion close to people’s activities.

We wanted this participation to help people connect hand protection with decisions about preparing and carrying out their activities.
